Reflection #100
When the word stable is used as an adjective, it means lasting, durable, permanent and perpetual. It speaks of security, safety and constancy. Stability is not a metaphor for “boring”, but rather a quality of reliance and fortitude that will bring us through trials and tribulations in uncertain times. When all we have left is God, we realize for the first time God is enough. He’s our refuge and strength, a very (manifestly) present help in trouble (tight spaces) … ~Ps. 46:1 How many times has the Lord calmed our fears and quelled our worrisome thoughts? If we did an inventory, it’s fair to say that He has brought us through “hell and high water” more than we’ll ever know. His stability is our stability, and our stability is derived from His faithfulness. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay; and He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. ~Ps. 40:2 Selah…
