Weekly Reflection from Pastor Kevin 4/19/23

Dear SCC & Friends,

I know the plans that I have for you… ~Jeremiah29:11

Reflection #163

It is amazing that God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things has plans for you and me. They are plans for welfare and not evil, to give a future and hope. In the midst of it all, it is so easy to get stressed out by the pressing issues of the day. I recently was caught in a traffic jam and couldn’t help but notice the words on the license plate frame of a car in front of me, “Get in, sit down, shut up and hold on!” It made me laugh, especially when I thought of how many times I’ve gritted my teeth and fought just to get from point A to B. The truth is that God meets us where we are in order to take us where He wants us to be. He’s not only in the transporting business, but also sustains us in all we do. He is ever working His plans for His purpose… Even to your old age, I shall be the same, and even to your graying years I shall bear you! I have done it, and I shall carry you; and I shall bear you, and I shall deliver you. ~Isa. 46:4 God’s plan will continue on God’s timetable. ~A.W. Tozer~ Selah…

The key to it all is knowing that the Lord is with us and for us. Our faith does not rest on an accumulation of knowledge or unique experiences. It’s based on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ the Son of God and Savior of the world. Our personal journey starts by following Him. It is through that relationship that our understanding of the Lord takes root and matures. Knowing about God is not the same as knowing Him and knowing Him better is a life-long quest… into the unsearchable , unfathomable, immeasurable and incomprehensible riches of Christ. Jesus extends opportunity to all of us. Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me. ~Rev. 3:20 It is a dinner invitation not to be ignored and one that will change our lives… We were made for these days… Keep up the good work!

                                                                            In His Plans,

                                                                             Kevin
