Dear SCC & Friends,

…gives life to the world. ~John 6:33

Reflection #225

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. ~Jn. 3:16 Our world is full of sinners who by their very nature sin. The Greek word hamartia means “missing the mark.” Statistics reveal that one out of one have missed the mark since creation. That’s you and me …for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. ~Rom. 3:23The Lord knows our imperfections and shortcomings… But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ~Rom. 5:8 That’s His specialty as echoed by the Apostle Paul. …that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all.~1 Tim. 1:15 We’re all sinners, and believers are simply redeemed sinners who through no merit of their own have received God’s gift of salvation. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. ~Eph. 2:8 ~Selah~

Jesus made it very clear that He did not come to call the righteous, but sinners. ~Mk. 2:17 Did the Lord get a “good deal” when I believed? Not really… All the downside was on my part and all the upside was with Him. He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy… ~Titus 3:5God’s love for us is not wearied by our sins and is relentless in its determination that we be cured at whatever cost to Him. ~C.S. Lewis~It’s been over five decades since I turned my life over to Christ. He did it all, and it was I who got an immeasurably “good deal”. He paid a debt He did not owe, because I owed a debt I could not pay. ~Anon.~ He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. ~2 Cor. 5:21 Thank you Lord for your amazing grace and everlasting love… May we keep up the good work!

Our Redeemer lives,
