Dear SCC & Friends,
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort. ~2 Corinthians 1:3
Update #26
The power of comfort should never be underestimated. Comfort as an action means to strengthen; to invigorate, to cheer or enliven, to console and give new vigor. A comforter as a person strengthens, encourages, supports. Comfort comes in many forms, physical, mental, social, psychological and spiritual. The God of all comfort covers every one of those areas. No matter what your situation is at this present time, I have good news…You’re on the winning team!…There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace…~Isa. 9:7…As truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord. ~Num. 14:21…The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof and all who dwell therein. ~Ps. 24:1…Jesus will never leave or forsake you. ~Heb. 13:5 …I am with you always, even to the end of the age. ~Matt. 28:20
Comfort can be a two-edged sword which is both pleasant and stifling at the same time. We hear often, “Don’t get too comfortable, or you need to step out of your comfort zone.” But why? Comfort zones are safe and secure, so why would the Lord have us do something uncomfortable? You know where I’m going with this…We are the clay, and Thou our potter; and all of us are the work of Thy hand. ~Isa. 64:8 All meaningful growth in our lives has come from the Lord helping us to press through the uncomfortable (unfamiliar) whether we liked it or not…doing what needs to be done, when it needs to be done whether we feel like it or not. He brings people and circumstances to comfort us, and by His grace helps us to comfort others. He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too. ~2 Cor. 1:2 ~The Message
The light in the COVID tunnel is flickering again and will pass before we know it. In the meantime, keep up the good work. Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary. ~Gal. 6:9 Looking forward to meeting again soon and will keep you posted.
God bless you and yours!
