Dear SCC & Friends,
There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven.~Ecclesiastes 3:1
Update #43
He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end. I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good in one’s lifetime; moreover, that every man who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor—it is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it, for God has so worked that men should fear Him. That which is has been already and that which will be has already been, for God seeks what has passed by. ~Ecclesiastes 3:11-15
The Lord stands outside of time in the midst of eternity yet loves and interacts with us in the midst of time for our eternal benefit. 2020 has not surprised the Lord, as that which will be has already been…I could wax philosophical, but in reality, this new year portends to give us much opportunity to know love and serve. The gift of eternal life is why He came…For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.~John 3:16
My hope and prayer is that we will be found faithful and flexible with all that’s before us…Faithful to the Lord and His Gospel, and flexible as we navigate the changing tides of COVID and the press of culture. You have been remarkable this year! Your grace and generosity have been a wonderful testimony to God’s faithfulness and purpose in and through our lives. We not only paid off the building this past year, but we were able to make a number of improvements. Beyond that, we doubled our giving to a number of missionaries with the sole intent that the Kingdom of God would be extended. The generous man will be prosperous, and he who waters will himself be watered. ~Prov. 11:25 May this coming year, 2021, be filled with God’s richest blessing for you and yours… The Lord is good… Keep up the good work! Happy New Year!!!
Our times are in His hands,
Kevin
