SCC Covid-19 Update 4/14/21

Dear SCC & Friends,

I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you. ~Psalm 32:8

Update #58

Several years ago, I was in Colorado Springs to attend a church service. As we drove to church, I couldn’t help but see the unique and unusual. I commented, “Here we are, two Irish-Catholics who became pastors, driving up Interstate 25 to get off at Baptist Road, to go to a Lutheran church, to attend an Anglican service under the auspices of the Bishop of Rwanda, to hear a Canadian living in Brussels share what God is doing in Estonia.” The Lord has many surprises on the way that demonstrate His unique placement and purpose in our times. The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. ~Prov. 16:9

After the military, I wanted to be a lawyer, but the Lord derailed those plans…so I found myself working construction (believe it or not), painting houses and doing retail and warehousing in Virginia. I then spent five years as a Jr. High school teacher and coach in Georgia, followed by ten years in sales and marketing in California. Apparently, that’s good training for being a pastor…at least for this pastor who knows God’s hand was in it all…Nothing wasted!

The Lord leads us with purpose and love. Each of us has a unique journey, and though it may seem circuitous, the Lord knows how to prepare us for what lies ahead. …for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. ~Philippians 2:13 The Lord is presently at work. Anonymous said, “Everybody wants progress…It’s change they don’t like.” “Everybody thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing themselves.”  ~Leo Tolstoy  Jesus is forever faithful and always brings us to safe harbor. We are living epistles and God is both Author and Finisher! Our story, our steps are in the Lord! Keep up the good work!

We are blessed in the journey,
