Dear SCC & Friends,
And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. ~Luke 2:52
Update #59
We live in a time of incessant cultural noise. It is an era of information overload in which we may be well informed but ill-equipped to handle the issues of life. Wisdom is the acquisition of knowledge with applied understanding. Scripture warns us that knowledge “puffs up” but never questions the authenticity and value of wisdom. The pursuit of wisdom brings security, but wisdom cannot be equated to an academic degree or how much income or status we have. Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. Many men know a great deal and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom. ~Charles Spurgeon How blessed is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding. Prov.3:13 …Selah…
Wisdom is something we can ask for, pray for, read about and even see it modeled. It may sound redundant, but “the only wisdom we have is the wisdom we have.” Wisdom is not only found but can be acquired. …if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man expect that he will receive anything from the Lord… ~James 1:5-7 May we pursue and maintain a posture of asking the Lord for wisdom. God’s grace and love are with us even when we fall short, and He still beckons in the midst of all our labors… Come unto me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. ~Matt. 11:28-29 That’s a promise!Keep up the good work!
….Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. ~Col. 2:3
