Dear SCC & Friends,
Cast your burden upon the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
~Psalm 55:22
Update #87
Where would our lives be without experiencing a “good crisis” now and then? Wait, is there such a thing as a good crisis? It is good if good comes out of it. Crisis may be defined as a critical juncture or an acute turning point which may bring a radical change in circumstances. Though often overwhelming a crisis helps us see our vulnerabilities and limitations. The Chinese character for crisis means danger and opportunity. Whenever you are in a crisis there is danger, but there is also an opportunity. C. S. Lewis said, “God whispers in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” Sometimes it takes a crisis and the associated pain with it to get our attention. God knows what is going on and will bring us through. …we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed… ~2 Cor. 4:7-9…Selah…
A personal crisis can come in many forms… marriage, financial, identity, mid-life, family, faith, health, vocation and more than I can enumerate. Suffice it to say, there is no safe haven from crises in this life. Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you… ~1 Pet. 4:12 May we know that beyond a present or impending crisis, God has a sovereign plan for our lives. Our part in crisis is keeping the right attitude, which keeps us going in the right direction. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.~Ps. 46:1 Very present means abundantly available for help…especially in difficult times, tight places and crises. …thanks be to God, who always leads us in His triumph… ~2 Cor. 2:14a We were made for these days! Keep up the good work!
God bless you!
