SCC Covid-19 Update 10/14/20

Dear SCC & Friends,

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, coming down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard, coming down upon the edge of his robes. It is like the dew of Hermon, coming down upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing—life forever. ~Psalm 133

Update #32

The word “behold” is used over 1,500 times in the Bible. It means to take a serious and thoughtful look. Behold means you are seeing something remarkable or impressive. It seems so easy, but do we really know how to cease all else, give full attention and searching gaze to what is before us? Dwelling together in unity, is good and pleasant. It’s something to notice, which means it’s rarer than common. When it’s there, it’s like the anointing oil covering us from head to toe. It is in that state, dwelling in unity, that the Lord commands the blessing…Life forever – in the valley or on the mountaintop – abased or abounding, in severe trial or glorious triumph we are blessed. We are challenged to be of the same mind, to maintain the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.~Philip. 2:2 Disunity has no redemptive value other than to point to unity which requires diligence, sacrifice and care. Unity is especially a blessing in days of uncertainty and upheaval.

The Apostle Paul challenges us to be diligent to pursue the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace…there is one body (undivided), one Spirit (undivided), one hope of calling, one Lord, onefaith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, over all, through all and in all. Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it. ~1 Cor. 12:27Diversity without unity brings division and ultimately chaos. Diversity with unity brings out a tapestry of gifts and callings that is something to behold. God is bringing unity out of diversity that the world may know! I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, that the world may know that Thou didst send Me, and didst love them, even as Thou didst love Me. ~John 17:23

Blessed to be a blessing,

Kevin
