SCC Covid-19 Update 10/7/20

Dear SCC & Friends,

…but I press on in order that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead. ~Philip. 3:12-13

Update #31

It goes so fast! Last week, Dudley and I celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary. We had a great time, and it is at these times that we reminisce, especially me. She’s not big on mushy cards, so I wrote her a card listing all the trips and places we’ve been together. It was extensive, but it really wasn’t about any one trip. It was about the journey we’ve shared and continue to share…an overarching journey that grows one day at a time. We get the word journal from the same root as journey. A journal is like a daily blog, ship’s log or daily papers like the London Journal or Milwaukee Journal. Life’s journey is a composite of the past, living in the present with a focus towards the future…one day at a time. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. ~Matt. 6:33-34 Truer words were never spoken!

The Scriptures refer to us as sojourners…temporary residents, strangers, travelers who dwell in a place for a time. The truth is, we are here for a very short time, and are to be in the world but not of it. For we are sojourners before You, and tenants, as all our fathers were; our days on the earth are like a shadow…

~I Chron. 29:15 Our journey of faith continues today in 2020 and will continue as long as the Lord allows. He has us on a road, a path of which He doesn’t just show us the way but is the way. I thank the Lord for each of you because all of our journeys are unique, yet intersected, as together we pursue His upward call. Let us press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. ~Philip. 3:14 Keep up the good work!

Blessed to be a blessing,

Kevin
