Dear SCC & Friends,
Update #8
We are in a season that is out of season. Days have lost their distinctives, routines upended, and special events have been cancelled. In the midst, I am so grateful you are alive and well. Our hearts and prayers go out to the families of the 60,000 that have died from COVID-19, not to mention those who are presently ill. It’s too easy for us to focus on our inconvenience and uncertainty, and miss the bigger picture that God is working redemptively at all times, in all places. We were made for such a time, and we know beyond doubt that He is intimately and sovereignly aware of our situation. He knows our challenges, the burdens we carry and our concerns for the future. His timing is impeccable, His grace is amazing, and His lovingkindness endures forever. The future belongs to Him!
He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart…I know that everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it, for God has so worked that men should fear Him. That which is has been already, and that which will be has already been, for God seeks what has passed by. Ecc. 3:11, 14-15
May our nation remember from whence it came…“In God we trust…One nation under God…Self-evident truths that all men are endowed by their Creator.” May we know the mercy, love and wisdom of God in these days. Mercy is never deserved but is always needed…As we see light at the end of the tunnel, let’s continue to be steadfast in faith, through hope in the love of God.
The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart from generation to generation. Blessed is the nationwhose God is the Lord, the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance. Psalm 33:11-12
Yours in Christ’s love,
Kevin
