Dear SCC & Friends,
Update #12
It’s been nearly three months since most of our country went into shut down. During this time, I have been in contact with many of the local pastors in our area via Zoom. We share a common love and concern for the Lord’s purpose in these days. Churches are different in size, style and constituency. The timing and methods of how each church re-gathers will also be diverse, and that includes us as well.
I believe we have been responding with love and maturity in the midst of uncertainty and challenge. As we approach summer, the light at the end of the tunnel grows brighter. I am meeting with our elders this week to look at a graduated plan of reconvening, which would be safe but not so restrictive and awkward that it defeats the whole purpose. Let’s continue to respect social distancing with considerate behavior towards others. People are getting out more, which is a good thing. Scripture urges us…And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. Gal. 6:9-10
No one knows the future but the Lord Himself, Who sees all things clearly from beginning to end, both now and forever…everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it, for God has so worked that men should fear Him. That which is has been already, and that which will be has already been, for God seeks what has passed by. Ecc. 3:14-15…None of us could have dreamed this world-wide scenario, but here we are. Let’s continue to pray, exercising patience and love, knowing we were made for these days. The future belongs to God. I will keep you posted – Miss your smiling faces! God bless you!
In His love,
Kevin
