Dear SCC & Friends,
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful…~Hebrews 10:23
Update #28
“How are you?” How often I hear, “I’m okay, just been going through a season of transition…COVID has been interesting, but we’re adjusting.” My question is, when haven’t we been in a transition? Even when things seem fixed and settled, life remains fluid and unfolding. Life itself is full of surprises and beyond our control, and Scripture challenges us to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing forbearance to one another in love…~Eph. 4:1-2 Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God. ~Corrie Ten Boom
Many churches, schools and businesses have re-opened. We are now somewhere in a process of re-entry, which in and of itself can be challenging. The re-entry of a space capsule can be more dangerous than the launch. Missionaries often battle re-entry as they go from one culture to another. Military personnel battle re-entry from a war zone to re-integration with family and society. Children go through it starting school after a summer layoff, or from “Zoom school” to once again being with other kids and teachers. Business and commerce are all in a state of transition, as well as government agencies and services. Whatever re-entry is, life never will be quite the same. The positive and negative of re-entry deeply affects us. The Lord has ordered our steps and personally equipped us to handle these changing times, which require us to be flexible and faithful…for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. ~Phil. 2:13
Sunday morning in the bathrobe, coffee in hand and video presentation served a real purpose. Now it’s re-entry time…“Up and at em,” get the family together as we honor the Lord and reassemble. …And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near. ~Heb. 10:24-25 Keep up the good work!
Blessings,
Kevin
