Dear SCC & Friends,
…One sows, and another reaps. ~John 4:27
Reflection #152
The principle of the harvest is applicable to all of life. Sooner or later, everyone sits down to a banquet of consequences. ~Robert Louis Stevenson~ Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. ~Gal. 6:7 I have a paperweight on my desk that says, “Never, never, never give up.” ~Winston Churchill~ He also said, Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. I wear a wristband given to me by my grandson, Cade, which says, “Never ever give up.” He had a brain tumor and suffered a massive stroke at the age of four. He couldn’t walk, talk and lost three quarters of his eyesight. He is now a Junior in High School and a sought-out public speaker. He has a remarkable story, sowing hope, vision and courage into others. All of us will always have opportunity to give up, but we have a choice… But let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary. ~Gal. 6:9 ~Selah~
We are free to choose, but not free of the consequences of our choices. ~Anon.~ Everything good in life is because of the Lord. Part of His goodness is the people He has sown into our lives. Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. ~Prov. 27:17 Each of us can recount the many who have invested and generated purpose and blessing into our story… parents, teachers, mentors, grandparents, coaches, friends, husbands, wives, siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins, pastors, doctors, missionaries, bosses, co-workers and neighbors…. The list is endless, and it’s all orchestrated by the Lord in what may seem random or coincidental. The truth is God is at work sowing us into the world to be sowers of His goodness and Gospel… He gives us all we need to do that… Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness… ~2 Cor. 9:10 Made for these days… Keep up the good work!
Sowers in Christ,
Kevin
