All that is good, all that is true, all that is beautiful, all that is beneficent, be it great or small, be it perfect or fragmentary, natural as well as supernatural…comes from God. ~John Henry Newman~ For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting, and His faithfulness to all generations. ~Ps. 100:5 He is essentially and absolutely good at all times in all places. He is the polar opposite of whatever our definition is of bad… He is the Good Shepherd and the Great Physician, and His goodness is eternally valid and forever praiseworthy. Oh taste and see that the Lord is good; how blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! ~Ps. 34:8 We have no superlative to do justice to the full meaning of the goodness of God. We do know that the very essence of God is His goodness, and He generously bestows it to us. Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. ~Jam. 1:17
Some people create their own storm and then blame God when it rains. ~Anon ~ God is often wrongfully blamed for the evil we see and experience in this world. Yet, through the ages it is sinful men and not God who have been the purveyors of evil… King David confessed… I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against You, You only, I have sinned and done what is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified when You speak and blameless when You judge. ~Ps. 51:3-4 Our Lord and Savior is in it all, and nothing is wasted be it good or bad… We have been blessed with the goodness of God in the midst of trial and adversity… We have this promise… And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. ~Rom. 8:28… All that happens is not necessarily good but always works for good in His purpose… He is with us always… Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives… ~Ps. 23:6 Keep up the good work!
