Dear SCC & Friends,

…for we cannot stop speaking

~Acts 4:20

Reflection #107

Our testimony has power because it is a true witness of God’s faithfulness in and through our lives. And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony… ~Rev. 12:11a Your personal testimony is impacting because it’s authentic and not simply an abstract theory or something read in a book. It’s your life interacting with God’s grace, forgiveness and love. Some years ago, a friend of mine who was a lawyer had been deathly sick and was the subject of much prayer and love. He later recovered and was asked to give a testimony which befuddled him… “How do you give a testimony?” I had to remind him of all the sworn testimony he had heard in court… “Do you swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you God?” Testimony in legal terms is evidence, deposition or an affidavit. It’s simply telling the truth… Every testimony is a story of struggle and God’s grace. Only God can turn a mess into a message, a test into a testimony, a trial into a triumph, a victim into a victor.

The very word “testimony” implies testing—It’s the cross before the crown. You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men. ~2 Cor. 3:2 Our personal testimony may be the key to unlocking someone else’s prison. Our testimony is not the Gospel but points to the Gospel. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord… ~2 Tim. 1:8a His steadfast love never ceases… His mercies are new every morning. When we speak of what God has done, there is no need to embellish or overstate. Come and hear, all who fear God, and I will tell of what He has done for my soul. ~Ps. 66:16 People may argue or disagree with your theology, but they cannot deny your “sworn testimony.” May the Lord help us… Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have, but with gentleness and respect. ~1 Pet. 3:15 Keep up the good work!

                                                               Our God reigns!
