Dear SCC & Friends,
By standing firm… ~Luke 21:19
Reflection #265
Have you ever been accused of being stubborn? Better yet, has anyone ever complimented you for being tenacious? One’s a negative dig while the other a positive affirmation. What’s the difference? Stubborn is beingobstinate, rebellious and self-willed. Tenacity is about grit, fortitude, backbone, resolution and courage. Tenacity is a virtue that speaks of ongoing courage and faith in the midst of challenge and struggle. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. ~Isa. 40:29 Joshua succeeded Moses and was told multiple times to be strong and courageous. He proved to be the right man at the right time to lead Israel into the Promised Land… Thirty-five hundred years later, his final words still echo… And if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. ~Josh. 24:15
The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. ~Prov. 16:9 The Lord leads us with purpose and love. Each of us has a unique journey, and though it may seem circuitous and unplanned, we can trust that the Lord prepares us for what lies ahead. …for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.~Philippians 2:13 Everybody wants progress… It’s change they don’t like.~Anon.~ The Lord changes us from the inside out to reveal our heart… It takes tenacity to hold our ground when the going gets tough, and the future seems bleak. Godly tenacity is key for a successful marriage and family, for grace to initiate and grow friendships, to fight and overcome the onslaught of temptation that can draw us away from God. Standing firm is fidelity to God… He gives us all we need to do that. And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. ~Philip. 4:19 …He is with us always… Keep up the good work!
Made for these days,
