Dear SCC & Friends,

Let your light shine… ~Matthew 5:16

Reflection #213

The issue is clear. It is between light and darkness, and everyone must choose his side. ~G.K. Chesterton~ Darkness is simply the absence of light. There can be ambiguity between light and darkness approximating spiritual twilight. In faith there is enough light for those who want to believe and enough shadows to blind those who don’t. ~Blaise Pascal~ I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I would that you were cold or hot. ~Rev. 3:15 There was a time when I perfectly fit that description. I definitely was not hot but did not regard myself as cold. How could I commit to something that was so radically different than the course I was on? We can fight the light, but light always wins over darkness. …the light shines in the darkness; and the darkness can never overcome it. ~John 1:5 It is by grace through faith that He turned our night to day and brought sight to our blindness. For He has called us out of the darkness into His marvelous light. ~1 Pet. 2:9

All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle. ~St. Francis of Assisi~ At creation, God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. ~Gen. 1:3We are children of the light… not because we have a self-righteous claim or in any way are superior to others.. It was through no merit of our own that the light of Christ penetrated the darkness of our hearts. For He delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son… ~Col. 1:13 No matter what stage of life we’re in, His light is to shine through us. This world is not our permanent home. We are sojourners who are called to walk in the light as He is in the light. In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. ~Matt. 5:16 We were made for these days… Keep up the good work!

Yours in His light,

Kevin
