Dear SCC & Friends,
…don’t worry about tomorrow… ~Matthew 6:34
Reflection #183
Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday. ~Anon.~ No man ever sank under the burden of the day. It is when tomorrow’s burden is added to the burden of today that the weight is more than a man can bear. If you find yourself so loaded at least remember this; it’s your own doing, not God’s. He begs us to leave the future to Him and mind the present. ~George MacDonald~ The future belongs to God, which means our future is ensconced in His sovereign purpose. He created all things and is not limited by time and space. We see in part and know in part, but the Lord sees the end from the beginning. That which is has been already, and that which will be has already been, for God seeks what has passed by. ~Ecc. 3:15 Our journey with the Lord is one day at a time… Worry fades as our faith rises, and faith prevails when we genuinely entrust our burdens to Him. Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, the God who is our salvation. …Selah… ~Ps. 68:19
Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. ~Matt. 6:34 Psychologists ascertain that ninety percent of what people worry about never comes to pass, and that people handle the other ten percent better than expected. Worry and anxiety sap our faith, and all too often lead to an unhealthy need for control. Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow. It empties today of its strength. ~Corrie Ten Boom~ The truth is that the days we live in are the best days of our lives… right this very minute. Do not say, “Why is it that the former days were better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this. ~Ecc. 7:10 May the Lord help us to have a vibrant faith, knowing He is ever the Lord of tomorrow… The next moment is as much beyond our grasp, and as much in God’s care, as that a hundred years away. Care for the next minute is as foolish as care for a day in the next thousand years. In neither can we do anything, in both God is doing everything. ~C.S. Lewis~ …He is with us always… Keep up the good work!
He is faithful,
Kevin
