Dear SCC & Friends,
But when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth His Son… ~Galatians 4:4
Update #91
Advent is upon us…four Sundays leading up to Christmas Day. The Latin word for advent is “advenio” which literally means to come. Advent refers to Christ coming in the flesh. …And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. ~Jn. 1:14 Advent also reminds us that Christ is coming again to judge the world. …that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. ~Philip. 2:10-11 Someday, at some time, something will occur that has never occurred and has no precedent… It’s called the consummation of the age, or in simple terms the end of time. We live between then and now not knowing the when and how. We have been given the time and opportunity to know, love and serve our Lord in this present life and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
God, who is eternal, descended into a time-space world for our redemption resulting in the gift of eternal life to all who believe. He never errs. He never changes. He never overlooks anything. He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end…That which is has been already, and that which will be has already been, for God seeks what has passed by. ~Ecc. 3:11, 15 He not only created time but understands the times we live in. He is ever aware that the tinsel and lights have little to do with His honor and glory. He understands that the gifts and parties are more often about our enjoyment than His veneration. Yet, He loves us through it all. His amazing grace sustains us. The daily unveiling of new crises reminds all of us … And He shall be the stability of your times, a wealth of salvation, wisdom and knowledge…~Isa. 33:6 He is Immanuel (God with us)! We were handpicked by the Lord Himself to live in 2021 and beyond… Keep up the good work! Nothing wasted!
