Dear SCC & Friends,

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. ~Psalm 91:1

Update #73

Not too long ago Dudley and I received a thank you note from someone who was going through a very difficult time. She thanked us for being there and helping to share the burden she carried! The note ended with, “Whatever God has in store for us, we know it is best, since we walk by faith.” The circumstances are still weighing and the future unknown, yet this humble admission says it all. It reminds us that we walk by faith…yes, by faith, not sight. Faith doesn’t say our senses are wrong, just that they are not final… Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval. ~Heb. 11:1-2 God’s love for us is a constant, but approval comes as a byproduct of walking in faith. Our faith can grow even in honest doubt and uncertainty. Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God. ~Corrie Ten Boom

Faith is far more than wishful thinking or a positive mental attitude. Faith is the substance (reality) of things hoped for, the evidence (proof) of things not seen. ~NKJV Faith is a posture of ongoing trust towards the Lord in all we think and do… It is the key to pleasing God. …without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. ~Heb. 11:6  It is not just unlikely or improbable to please Him, it is absolutely impossible without faith. Our friend is still in crisis, but her simple note impacted me…” Whatever God has in store for us, we know it is best, since we walk by faith. The noise and turmoil of modern culture swirls about us. There is calm in the middle of the storm, and the Prince of Peace beckons, …Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid. ~Matt. 14:27 May our steps of faith honor God and extend His Kingdom in this present age. Keep up the good work!

Peace be with you,

Kevin
