Dear SCC & Friends,
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is the Lord. ~Jeremiah 17:7
Update #70
“Never make predictions, especially about the future.” ~Yogi Berra Nevertheless, talking about projections, forecasts and opinions on the future remain big business. Modern culture literally bombards us with the latest information about what to do to protect our future…political pundits, financial experts, spiritual gurus and the like are vying for our trust. It’s an amazing irony, because when they are wrong, they simply re-tool explaining that they had faulty data and repeat the cycle. A close friend of mine was told by his doctor that he had three months to live. That was 45 years ago, and inexplicably, or should I say miraculously, my friend is alive and a grandfather many times over. God does not see us as a statistic or random mass of evolved protoplasm. Each of us is fearfully and wonderfully made, and He alone knows the future. …For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things which have not been done, saying, ‘My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure.’ ~Isa. 46:9b-10
Trust implies an absolute and assured reliance on someone or something…Our Lord is trustworthy beyond all comprehension. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created by Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. ~Col. 1:16-17 The fact that Jesus upholds all things gives us both the comfort and certitude of His love and sustaining power regardless of circumstances. Confidence and humble trust in the Lord is the essence of true wisdom. He has us earthbound to know, love and serve. He’s coming back according to the counsel and timing of His will. Whatever difficulties, whatever struggles are before us, let us trust, lean on and abide in the Lord – fight through it, knowing He’s trustworthy in the battle… Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.~Isa. 41:10 Keep up the good work!
Trusting in Christ,
Kevin
