Dear SCC & Friends,
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He delivered them out of their distresses. ~Psalm 107:6
Update #79
“Man’s extremity is God’s opportunity.” One of the great lessons of life is when all we have left is God, we realize for the first time that God is enough. He is our refuge and strength, a very present (abundantly available) help especially in tight places. Some may disagree, but my personal experience backs up “There are no atheists in foxholes.” I served as an infantry platoon leader in Viet Nam, and for the most part I was adrift and apathetic in my spiritual life. On more than one occasion He put me in “tight places.” I bargained with God, “Lord, if you get me out of this, then I’ll go to church when I get back to a safe area.” What a deal for God, yet amazingly He heard my prayer. It beyond amazing that He initiates and demonstrates His love for us before we reciprocate that love back to Him. …Yet while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ~Rom. 5:6-8…Selah…
I am not aware of any seminars on “Five Ways to Get Out of Tight Places.” …but there is He Who is the Way. Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way… ~John 14:5-6a The Way out is the Way in. Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. ~Matt. 11:28-29 The Lord knows all that is before us and has made us to be salt and light in this present age… For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. 2 Tim. 1:7 He’s delivered and saved us far more than we’ll ever know. He keeps watch over each of us on this side of eternity and beyond. He’s there for you…He’s there for me. …call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me. ~Ps. 50:15 What a mighty God we serve! Keep up the good work!
Thy Kingdom come!
