Kevin Davenport has served as senior pastor of Saddleback Covenant Church since 1987. He presently leads a congregation characterized by the building and equipping of young people, strengthening relationships, and training individuals and teams for release into service.
Kevin was raised in a military family and consequently lived in many parts of the United States and overseas. His parents instilled in him the love of God and a responsibility to the call of duty, honor and country. He served as an infantry platoon leader in Vietnam, and on his return planned to be an attorney. The Lord radically interrupted his agenda in 1972, when Kevin gave his life to Christ. He later became a schoolteacher in rural Georgia, and a successful businessman in Southern California.
Kevin and his wife, Dudley, have been married for 46 years and are the blessed parents of four adult children, and grandparents of eight. He is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and holds a Masters Degree in Education. Kevin’s most earnest desire is to communicate the love of God and help people grow in their relationship with Christ and with one another.
